  15. <p>     ARRESTED. JOHN WAYNE BOBBITT, 26, the ex-Marine who found fame
  16. when his penis was severed by his wife and reattached by doctors;
  17. for assaulting Kristina Elliott, 21, a former topless dancer
  18. and his fiance; in Las Vegas. Bobbitt, who was acquitted last
  19. November of sexually assaulting his wife Lorena, whom he is
  20. divorcing and who claims she was provoked into maiming him,
  21. was said by police to have thrown Elliott against a wall. Bobbitt
  22. pleaded not guilty. The couple later released separate statements
  23. reaffirming their love for each other.
